Why Mr R.T overshadowed Chandaryaan ??

On 22nd Oct every news channel was too busy telecasting the Hot and Crunchy news about Mr. RT but every INDIAN forgot that INDIA is entering into new phase of innovation & research ..........Every body must be knowing about NASA but very few of us know that, our own INDIA too have an organization, so called ISRO .. It was the historical day for INDIAN Space research....These days news channels are more inclined towards the HOT & MASALLA NEWS rather than showing something good happening in our Country..Same thing happened with CYG Pune..News channels had time to telecast the news related to "RT","RAKHI SAWANT" ,"ALIENS and our COWS","BHOOT UNCLE" etc... but no sensible news are shown..Don't you think our Country requires sensible Media ...On 22nd October several news channels were asking users to send their views via SMS about "What Mr. RT will be eating in the lockup,How will he sleep ,etc.." . but no news channel educated us about Chandaryaan..I think it is a high time to support MTV's "WHAT THE F CAMPAIGN" for the current media and YOUNGISTAN should get a limited hours constructive news channel ..................................................................

I completely agree with you Nitesh, we definetely need better news channels. I have few more examples of media paying attention to insignificant news like Amitabh Bacchan's hospitalization, Sanjay Dutt - Salman Khan's jail entry-exit etc etc. And I wonder how does India TV daily discovers something from mytholical times like Hanuman Cave, Ravana's Mummy, Swarg ki Seedhi and so on...

In our language ( as in the media) since I am one of them ( almost) we call it yellow journalim...

When the space in leading newspapers is sold per sq cm, whn the tv reporters ask you do things on scene for that little drama that will make a better story and will be watched by millions credibilty, news value etc is bound be lost.

Like rakhi says, jo dikhta hai woh bikta hai.. unfortunately media too is corrupted by TRPs.. of all things even the H1N1 flu was much of a media hype...

creating sensation is easy, talking sense is not!

Achivements worth news maynot make it to the headlines but thank god! they don't work for making it to the news they create it and the audience who understands it, gets to know it too!
